1. When you click on a link "Supernovae/Recommended for observation" you will see a list of objects that are, in our opinion, worth of your attention in the given period. Supernovae are listed alphabetically, which is almost equivalent to the history of their discovery. An order, however, can be changed in accordance with your needs - it is enough to click on a heading of any column in the table and you will see a list ordered by brightness or right ascension. It can be very useful for the preliminary selection of objects that might be of some interest to us during observation. Of course you should check in the first place if the chosen galaxy will be visible in the period of your observation.
2. When you click on the name of a supernova from the table you will see its own subpage. There you will find basic information and it will be possible to download a file containing the finding chart, on which there will be marked a position of the supernova and of the comparison star. The finding chart has a standard size of 7 to 7 minutes of an arc. You should check if the supernova and the comparison star will be visible in the scope of the telescope when it is set to the galactic coordinates, for example. It is recommended to point the telescope using coordinates, exactly between supernova and reference star (deriving the mean value for both right ascension and declination).
3. We make observations using three basic filters and we should register the time of taking a photo.
4. Working out the observation consists in measuring brightness of the supernova in three filters.
5. The procedure is described in the text written by
T. Kacik
6. Add results of your observations to the Portal of Supernovae data base. Click on Data/Add observations on the supernova web page.
7. A list of the recent observations will be visible on the main page of the portal. In order to see the results of your or other observations of the given supernova, you must find it in the list and click on its name. A subpage of the given object will open in that way and you will be given a choice - you can see a table list ("Data/Observation data") or a graph with the marked points ("Data/Graph").
