Two supernovae in the same galaxy (June 2008 update)

2008-06-09

Don't miss the opportunity to spot a galaxy with two supernovae visible at the same time! They have been discovered by Berto Monard: SN 2008br on April 7 and SN 2008co on May 26. They are quite faint, barely visible in IC 2522 galaxy in Antlia. Their C magnitudes are around 19 and 17.1 respectively, as of the middle of June.

The suggested position for the telescope for best result is RA: 09 55 10, DEC: -33 07 47.
