Information and tips for students

The main goal of our project is to gather documentation concerning the results of the supernova stars observation. We would like to encourage you to keep track of those huge cosmic fireworks in distant (possibly one day also in ours) galaxies. If only you take photos of the night sky, you can participate in our game. You will soon learn that by the use of simple methods you can keep track of the changes occurring in the Universe. You will witness the last months of life of those massive stars that enrich the surrounding matter in heavy elements and to which we owe our existence in some ways.

Before we prepare further instructions, please familiarize yourselves with encyclopedic information about supernovae here.

You can also try to learn the ways to determine brightness and how to do it here.

Ask your teacher for help in joining the project and establishing cooperation with other users. You will have a lot of satisfaction from the well done task.
